Spring IS coming...

In the past two years, I have experienced more joy and more sorrow than a person can take. In 2009, I became pregnant, lost a dear friend tragically, watched my best friend suffer tremendous loss, dealt with my fathers illness, tolerated issues of blended families, endured pregnancy complications, celebrated the birth of my beautiful daughter and finally struggled with the death of my father. My father passed away in October 2009, just 10 weeks after Mollie was born.

I used to love the fall and winter months. I used to anxiously await snowy days camped out by a fire. Now, I find myself miserable from October through March. These months are dull, cold, filled with sorrow and fatigue. The emotions that have occupied these months in the past two years feel like they are permanent. My dearest friend, Bonnie, gave me this CD when my father passed away. It was a comfort to her when she was in the throes of grief. This song, Spring is Coming, is one of our favorites. The words describe how anxious I am to see the green grass and hear the birds sing. I look forward to feeling the warm sun on my face. My dad never enjoyed the cold months either. He was always ready for spring time too. Enjoy this song.

Farm Life

Our good friends, the Hudsons and the Shofners, have purchased some farmland here in Fayetteville. They are both building homes on this land. We spent some time checking out their land and letting our kiddos run wild a few weekends ago. Mollie LOVED it- she played in the dirt (something she isn't used to) and we even drove through the pasture and saw cows up close! Here are pictures from our day on the farm.

Thomas aka "Jett"

Adam, Mollie and I had the privilege of watching Thomas a few Saturdays ago while Bonnie and Caroline spent some time together. He is the sweetest baby boy. Mollie and he play so well together and it is so cute watching them laugh and giggle. Mollie hasn't quite figured out how to say Thomas so she calls him the one name she can say, which is Jett. She talks about Jett all the time! Most of you may know that Jett and Thomas are cousins and both are included in Mollie's group of best buddies. So for now, it will be ok! Bonnie and I wondered if she thought they were the same person but she looked at a picture of both Jett and Thomas and she named Jett correctly and then called Thomas "Matt" (after my brother). So she understands they are two different people at least!

Thanksgiving visit to the Farm

This Thanksgiving was spent here in Fayetteville with a combination of Medlocks and Harmons. My mom and brother joined us along with Matt (Uncle Matt #2), Lindsey, and Ava on Thanksgiving Day. Mom and Matt were able to stay for several days. There was alot of yummy food and the girls running around playing with each other is fun for everyone!

I have a childhood friend that owns several acres of land here in Fayetteville where he keeps all of his horses. Our mothers are best girlfriends which helps us to stay in touch. Mom and I decided to take Mollie to see the farm on Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Herlein family is a special family to the Medlock crew. We all grew up going to school together in Jonesboro. I remember in elementary school, Todd would always get to leave early on Fridays to travel to rodeos. Little did I know it would become his life's work!

Pumpkin Patch

We took a family outing to the Southwest City Pumpkin Patch a few weekends ago and it was such a wonderful day! The weather was gorgeous. There were so many activities and the girls LOVED it! If you have never been to this place, check out their website for next season.

Money to Jesus

At our church there is a time following the offering where we sing a song and let the children take money to the front to offer. I have always wondered if Mollie was ready to try the "walk". We usually are able to sit with our dear friend, Bonnie and yesterday we did. I just happened to look down the aisle, while Bonnie was handing Caroline her dollar bill in preparation for the children's offering. Bonnie motioned to me that we should let Caroline assist Mollie in taking a dollar also. I had Adam give Caroline a dollar for Mollie and sat anxiously awaiting the offering. When it was time, Caroline sweetly took Mollie's little hand in hers and walked her down the aisle to the front to "give her money to Jesus." I knew Mollie would enjoy the walking down part, she loves walking and holding hands. I just wasn't sure about coming back to her seat with the excited rush of children. All in all, they both did great. Mollie did throw her dollar on the ground twice before reaching the offering plate, which Caroline later told me was "very silly of Mollie" but I guess that can be expected of a one year old!

I told Caroline after she had Mollie back to me how special it was for her to do that with Mollie. She told me that she knew it was special because it was important to God.

I vividly remember how proud Caroline's daddy was of her when she first participated in the children's offering. He would always sit perched on the edge of his seat, end of our row, just to remind her where to come back to sit. He started this little tradition of having her high five all of us after she successfully "gave her money to Jesus". I hope someday I can tell her that memory I have of him and let her know how much he meant to me. I am sure she didn't realize yesterday that he was on my heart as I watched her usher my own daughter, whom he never met, down that very same aisle.

Rewind....

On September 2, 2010 Mollie turned the big ONE! We celebrated with family and friends with a party at Gulley Park. She ran and played with her sweet friends until her little feet couldn't run anymore. It was perfect weather and a great way to celebrate her sweet little life. I could post a million pics from this occasion but I will resist the urge. I am pretty sure most of you have seen them on facebook anyways. Once again, I have to give the photography credit to Staci! She is so special to Adam and I and it means so much to have her taking these pictures as Mollie grows up before ours eyes!

The Big Apple

Adam and I were able to spend about 4 days in September visiting my sister in New York. This was my second trip to the city but my first since Mary Kathryn has been living there. This mini-vaca was Adam's first time to see all the big apple has to offer! I will say that the weather was great, except for the rain. It wasn't hot, it wasn't cold. The rain was annoying since your feet get you everywhere you need to go. Needless to say, packing my rainboots would have been a wise choice.

The first official day of our trip was spent exploring my sister's neighborhood, Park Slope, in Brooklyn. We really enjoyed Brooklyn and preferred it over being in the city. Especially when I considered life with a baby! The rest of our time was spent doing the normal tourist things in the city. One thing is for sure, New York life is a hassle, exhausting, but exhilirating all at the same time!

I am welcoming myself back into the blogging world with open arms! I really have no excuse as to why I stopped updating other than I was being lazy. I did feel sometimes that I was spending endless hours uploading pictues and videos onto the web and that nobody was actually reading what I was putting out there. But when I stopped blogging, many of you commented on my outdated posts and deleted background. So with that said, I am back in the game. And this time I am going to remind myself that even if nobody reads what I am blogging about, someday I hope that Mollie will take a slight interest in my work.

Everyday when we pick Mollie up from daycare, we sign her out and pick up her "day sheet". The day sheet has everything on it that she ate, when she slept, etc... On Wednesday, her sheet said she played peek a boo with her blanket and loved it. Later that night, Mollie was sitting in Adam's lap where she proceeded to pick up a dish towel and do this....

Today is Mollie's 7 month birthday! She is more precious with each passing day. I love watching her explore and learn. Here are her "stats" for this month:

~ She weighs 19lbs 10oz
~ She eats 6oz in each bottle and three jars of baby food a day.
~ Her favorite foods are Oatmeal Pears with Cinnamon, Vegetable Blend, and Squash.
~ She loves her toys! Especially her music table, her jumperoo, and her plastic shape blocks!
~ She says "Mama" and I don't care if she knows what she is saying, it is still the sweetest sound.
~ She just recovered from ear infection #5.
~ She loves watching cartoons in the mornings. Her favorites are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Wonder Pets, and Handy Manny.
~ She loves bath time. She would sit in the tub for hours if we would let her!
~ She can sit up all by herself and is very close to figuring out crawling!
~ She still has beautiful blue eyes. Adam and I both have hazel eyes. My father had blue eyes.
I like to think her blue eyes are a little gift from my dad. I sure hope they don't change color!

Mollie- You are my angel. You have enriched my life more than you could ever know. I love you.

First Sunday School

Mollie went to her very first Sunday school class today! We stayed around for the first few minutes to video and see how she was going to react! She is such a pleasant baby! She loved class and joined right in! Of course, her potential boyfriend Thomas was there to show her the ropes! We are blessed to belong to a church that has so many children that are Mollie's age. She will be able to develop such wonderful friendships there!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Adam, Mollie, and myself are spending this holiday in seclusion! We are all three sick! Adam and I have sinus infections, coughs, congestion, etc. Mollie has double ear infections and bronchitis! I feel so sorry for my sweet valentine! Adam and I did enjoy a date night last night that included a couples massage, dinner, and a diamond necklace suprise for me! Hopefully, spring will bring less illness for us all!

This is a little "movie" that Adam put together of some of Mollie's most recent video camera moments. She already loves the Miley Cyrus song so we felt it appropriate to include. She has gotten really good at tummy time and floor play time with all of her new toys. She has just begun to really notice Fez and want to befriend him. He is still skeptical! She also enjoyed some freestyle dance moves with Cousin Quinn. He can make just about anyone have a good time! Enjoy!!!

4 months old!

I can't believe four months have come and gone in my sweet baby girl's life. She is such a joy. I fall in love with her more with each new day, each new trick, and each new giggle!

~ She weighs 15lbs, 13oz!
~ She laughs all the time!
~ If she is crying, she needs something FAST! Otherwise shes a very happy baby.
~ She is sleeping at least 6 hours a night and normally naps well during the day.
~ She loves baby food. She wasn't crazy about bananas or peaches but is coming around to them now!
~ She will eat 6oz of formula.
~ She will talk to you and it is the sweetest sound.
~ She smiles and coos all the time. Sometimes when I go into her room to check on her she just laughs and has the best time.
~ She has discovered her hands and loves them! She is slowly noticing her feet!
~ She loves toys especially ones that make crinkly noises!
~ The top picture is Mollie's first art project! She was 10 weeks old when she "painted" it!!
~ She has had two ear infections and several colds but is otherwise healthy, happy girl!

We had a wonderful first Christmas with Mollie. Although it was a bittersweet time for me, I enjoyed every minute of it! She, of course, was spoiled beyond belief with gifts from famiy and friends. She won't need toys for quite some time! As always, our holidays are spent doing alot of traveling! It's always a rush to get it all in but we always enjoy our time at home. Mollie's first Thanksgiving was spent here in NWA. I was on call at the hospital so we enjoyed time with Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Matt, and Ava. The Greer Family was there too and it was a wonderful afternoon with plenty of delicious food! Mollie looked so adorable in her headband and bow! I dont put them on her very often! Aunt Lindsey was very proud of us! We tried to get some pictures of the girls in Ava's new recliner chair but Ava wasn't too happy about it. She decided to "claw" at Mollie! She probably thought she was a babydoll or something!

We also tried out the jumperoo for Miss Mollie and it didn't go over so well. We are gonna keep trying though because Ava LOVED it!

We have missed our friends so much over the past few months! We spent some time Saturday night with Bonnie, Thomas, Caroline, Becky, & Jett. They couldn't believe how big Mollie had gotten! Caroline is such a big help with the babies! She took the bottle from my hand and told me that "she could do it by herself." She also kept saying "Mowwie has so much pretty hair Julie!" I love my sweet Caroline!!

We have decided that these two, Mollie and Jett, are destined to be boyfriend and girlfriend at some point in their lives. Jett became very concerned when Mollie would cry which is a good sign! I told him though that if they end up together he can't complain about his in-laws to his parents because they love us so much!!! Even if they don't date, we are sure that all these babies are going to be best friends and lean on each other through the ups and downs of life!

10 weeks have come and gone with my baby girl and I can't believe it! We have had so many ups and downs in these 10 weeks but during it all we have enjoyed getting to know each other. I can hardly remember when Mollie was a tiny newborn! She is changing so much everyday. Here are the things that I want to remember that she is able to do at this stage.

She weighs 12lbs 5ozShe smiles and laughs at us all the time
She has this really adorable, high pitched sigh for when shes getting sleepy
She has started grabbing onto things like my shirt, my fingers, necklaces, etc...
She loves her activity mat, swing, and bouncy chair
She is eating 4-6oz at each feeding
She will sleep at least 4-5 hrs at a time and we have had one night of 7 straight hours
She started daycare last Monday and has done really well
She loves bath time but hates getting lotioned up afterwards
She hates burping over the shoulder....she will fuss big time
Her favorite thing we do is stick our tongue out and make a silly noise- she imitates us and gets so excited!

This video was taken this past Saturday morning. Mollie and I were up for breakfast. I put her in her bouncy chair and she was so happy!!! Enjoy!

Baby Smiles!

I can't claim that this is her first smile but it was her first smile at ME! I have reports of a smile to Papaw last weekend. I witnessed smiling at Uncle Chad. And then on Monday, she smiled at me! It was such a sweet moment for me. I kinda screamed in excitement which made her mad but then she quickly went back to smiling. Luckily, Aunt Karen was nearby with my iPhone to capture it for us! It is now Wednesday and I have been privy to many sweet sweet smiles from my baby girl!

Mollie is 6 weeks old today and I just can't believe it. I have always heard parents say "I can't remember my life without her." I always thought that was an odd statement but completely understand now. I have only known her 6 short weeks but feel like she has always been with me. It truly is a love that you can't understand until you experience it.

We love our activity mat!! I'm sure Mollie can't really enjoy all it has to offer yet but she sure loves the mirror shaped like a sun!! She is starting to look at lights and things that make noise. We have a little stuffed bear that laughs and she loves it! She is starting to follow my voice with her eyes and it makes my heart melt!! I have about three weeks left at home with her and I want to enjoy every minute of it!

This past Tuesday morning Mollie and I spent some time with good friends at the Fayetteville Farmers Market! It was a beautiful fall day and we had a really good time! We were invited by our dear friends Bonnie and Nellie. Of course, Caroline and baby Thomas joined us! It was Mollie and Thomas' first trip to the farmers market. Caroline however is a farmer market pro and couldn't wait to buy some tomatoes and green beans! Caroline was so cute walking around and commenting on all the vendors selling their items. She is such a smart little girl and I love that I have been able to watch her mature and grow over the past 2.5 years!

Mollie helped me pick out some yummy food! We bought fresh green beans, bell pepper, and squash! Now I just have to figure out how to cook it all!!!

Here is a picture of Mollie's coming home outfit! It is the same dress that I wore home from the hospital in 1983! As a gift at one of my showers, my mother gave me a box of my clothes to hand-me-down to Mollie. I realize now I should have gotten a better picture of the actual outfit but the whole process of getting home was pretty stressful! Picture taking wasn't at the forefront of my mind!

We have had the most unbelievable 6 days! I don't think we were prepared for the love we would have for this little girl. She is completely wonderful. We just can't stop staring at her. It's hard to think that just 6 days ago she lived inside of my body. What a miracle!! I am posting just a FEW of the pictures we have taken and will continue to post as I have time!!

Mollie has the most beautiful dark hair and deep blue eyes. It is a treat when we see her eyes because she doesn't like opening them often. And when she does she usually keeps her left eye closed! We snapped this photo during a late night changing when she had both eyes wide open! So pretty!!!

Daddy thought this was a funny trick- he was getting his kisses but she was wanting dinner!!!

This is Adam's infant picture next to Mollie. The resemblance is pretty similar. So far most votes go to looking just like Daddy. I think I have had one just like mommy!

I can't explain this feeling. I always heard people say you would love your children more than imaginable. I completely understand this now that Mollie Anne is in my life.

I will post a full labor story later on. Like most of our pregnancy with Miss Mollie, she made for an interesting labor situation. It wasn't the labor the we had planned on but in the end she arrived safely and perfect! We are still in hospital and hope to go home tomorrow.

36 weeks and counting....

We are 36 weeks pregnant and very ready to get this show on the road! We have everything ready for Miss Mollie. We installed the car seat this weekend! (It is so cute in Daddy's car!) We had a good doctors visit this week. I am about 1 cm dilated and the baby's head is low and in great position for delivery! Our doctor "guess-timated" a possible early delivery. Maybe around 38 weeks!

We also had an ultrasound that indicated Mollie weighs about 5 lbs 10 oz at this point. She seems to have a head full of hair! We can't wait to meet her and would love for everyone to give us their guesses as to weight and birthday! Leave your guesses in the comments!!

George's Inc Baby Shower

We had our final baby shower today! Adam's wonderful co-workers hosted a shower for Mollie. It was such a nice time and I was able to meet so many of the people he spends time with every day! They had the most adorable cake and we got alot of gifts! Thank you George's for a really lovely afternoon!!

A best girlfriend is one who drives 3 hours (on a spontaneous whim) to give you a gift that she personally quilted for your new baby even though she has zero time to herself because she is so busy learning how to become a doctor....Christina is that best friend. I can't even imagine how many hours she put in to making Mollie a quilt but I can imagine how much of that time she could have been doing something for herself. But that is just the kind of friend she is. We miss she and Jordan so much and even though they were only here for a day, we picked up right where we left off! We never miss a beat! I can't wait to have tummy time and park outings with Mollie and her quilt. Hopefully her "Dr. Aunt" can tag along someday!!

All business and no play! That was how we spent our time in California! I was sent there to attend the Toshiba training school to prepare me for the installation of our new CT scanner at work! It won't be installed until September but I will be on maternity leave so we decided to send me to training now rather than when Mollie is here. Adam was able to join me which made me feel alot better about traveling at 32 weeks pregnant! I spent all of my time in class and in the evenings we had dinner, pool/hot tub time, then bed! I was exhausted by bedtime! Adam worked from the hotel and relaxed when he could. The last night of our trip we rented a car and hit Laguna beach and Huntington beach. Laguna is amazingly beautiful and we hope to go back someday!

My second shower was at home in Jonesboro. It was hosted by the girls in Adam's family. Both of my sisters-n-law, Adams cousins, and our dear friend Brandy! It was at Courtney's beautiful house in Bay. It was such a wonderful day! We got even more stuff for Mollie!!!

This was one of my most favorite gifts. It was from my mom. She had boxed up alot of the clothing items from my childhood and included a photo album with pictures of me in the clothes! It was so sweet and a definite tear jerker! I can't wait to put Mollie in her "vintage" hand-me downs! She will be coming home from the hospital in the same dress that I did! I am so blessed with amazing friends and family! I have been given two incredible baby showers and Mollie has received so many wonderful things to welcome her to this world! My first shower was hosted by a group of dear friends (you know who you are!!!). It was at Kathy's beautiful house! She pretty much can host a party and look like Martha Stewart herself had been there!!

The best part!!! Shelly is back in the states and will be here for Mollie's birth! Lindy also surprised me and flew to Fayetteville for the shower! She is very busy with vet school but made the effort just for me! I love those girls!!

This past Monday, Adam and I got in a practice parenting run!! We kept our niece, Ava, for the evening. She is so adorable! She was pretty cranky that night and only liked being held by her uncle! He was so good with her...Mollie is going to be in wonderful hands with her daddy!! I failed to take any pictures from that night!!!

We also had some time with Jackson and Landon. They stayed the week with Grammy and Papaw. Those boys are too much fun! Jackson and I played Wii Golf and it was great! I can't wait to add Mollie into the mix!!

CRAVINGS!!! I am 30 weeks pregnant and all I crave is baked goods!! It's not a good thing being as how most baked goods have alot of fat and calories! BUT this is the one time in my life that I can indulge, right?!?!?! No really, this is the first night that I "gave in" to my craving....CUPCAKES! I went to the store and bought the ingredients for strawberry cupcakes and vanilla icing! Usually I just let the craving subside (if i dont have the item on hand) but hey its a holiday!!!!!

We finally found the bedding that will help our sweet baby girl someday have sweet dreams!!! I looked almost every night on the Internet for bedding that I liked. I did this, religiously, for months! Adam got a little annoyed with my fretting over this little detail. To me, however, its a big deal!! Anyways, this bedding set is what we finally decided on. It came in today and when I got home from work my sweet husband had placed all the pieces into the crib. Mollie's bedding was gifted to us by her Grammy and Pawpaw! It was her first official piece of nursery decor! I am so pleased with how it looks. Obviously this picture is NOT of our nursery. We only ordered the bedding set, not the whole themed lot! Also, our crib is antique white not brown. I was a little concerned how it would look but it looks even better than the brown! I can't wait to post pictures of her real nursery!

Baby Jett is finally here! He is so perfect! Seeing him today with Becky made me VERY anxious to meet Mollie! Becky was about a week late so I know she is so thrilled to have him in her arms. He weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was almost 21" long! I can't wait to be a part of this little guy's life!! Maybe he could be boyfriend material for Mollie???

Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend Adam, Matt and I traveled to Houston to visit my dad and step mom. Dad was able to get out and about the town with us! We made a little drive to Galveston to see the beach which was a nice scenery change from all the rain here. It was a great weekend spent with family. I know we wore Dad out from all the activity but I think he enjoyed it anyways!!

This day was also my first official mothers day! Everyone, including my brother, gave me cards and gifts. It was so nice but also a little odd. I can't believe that I am well on my way to motherhood!

I should have posted these pictures awhile back but honestly I forgot they were on my camera! So, we found out we were having a girl on a Thursday and that following Friday we had a trip planned to Jonesboro. Both of my siblings were there which always makes it a fun time! I had decided I wanted to do something special for my mom to tell her she was having a grand-daughter. With the help of a friend (C.H.) I stole this idea!!

I had a cake made, last minute might I add, that read on white icing ITS A....then when cut into, the cake was pink!!! Now I had really wanted everyone to be awake when we finally got to Jonesboro but we came in the door to a quiet house. I was disappointed but decided to wake everyone up!! My sister was actually in the shower and my mom was totally asleep! They were all troopers and entertained my little announcement. They both will kill me for posting these pictures but oh well!!

Its a girl!!! Adam and I found out today that we are having a baby girl!! We are so thrilled! We both really wanted a girl and had those "feelings" everyone talks about that made us think it was girl. We are 19 weeks pregnant- almost half way there! The baby measured exactly 19 weeks today and weighs a whopping 10 oz! We are now looking forward to preparing a home for this sweet baby girl! We have decided on the name Mollie Anne. Mollie was the one name we both loved and Anne is my middle name. We think its perfect!! Just this past week, I have started feeling movement from our little girl. It is an amazing feeling!

Our niece is here! And she is perfect! Ava arrived early this morning, around 1:21 a.m. Both mother and baby are doing great! She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz. I look at her and think she looks so tiny! I also look at her and think, "Wow- there is one in my belly too!" Seeing and holding Ava has made Adam and I both anxious to meet our little bundle come this fall. We are so happy for Matt & Lindsey and wish them so much love over the next few weeks as they adjust to parenthood. It is such a blessing!

Adam and I spent this past weekend in Houston to visit my dad. He is still in the hospital at MD Anderson. He is doing a little better each day. He had a pretty rough weekend while we were there but it was so great to see him. I spent alot of time with him in his small room. He has been on isolation so he hasn't been able to leave his room. I enjoyed being with him so much.

A great plus to the weekend was finding out that Lindy (my cousin) and her husband Josh were going to drive from Baton Rogue to visit also. We had so much fun catching up with them! Lindy is in vet school at LSU. She and Dad talked "animal medicine" alot! I think he enjoyed that! It was a great weekend spent with family! The picture is from our wonderful dinner that Lynda treated us all too! It was yummy!

Oh Baby!!

We had our monthly OB visit today. Everything is progressing wonderfully. The baby's heartbeat was in the 160s. I have even gained back some of the weight I lost during the first trimester! We were crossing our fingers for an ultrasound today in hopes of maybe finding out the sex, but there were no ultrasounds. I guess that is better just so we can be more certain when they do tell us. When is that you may ask??? APRIL 20!!! In exactly 4 weeks from today and we are so excited to find out! I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and I am feeling so much better. I think I can handle this trimester! Stay tuned for more baby news!!!

I feel like I haven't blogged in quite some time! I decided to name this post WOW because that is about all I can figure out to describe this year so far. It has completely blindsided me. There have been tragedies, celebrations, sadness, and trials that I did not see coming this soon in 2009.

As most of my friends and family know, Adam and I are expecting! We learned in early January that we were pregnant. We decided to keep it a secret for a few weeks so many of you just found out.

Also, in early January, we lost one of our dearest friends to a tragic accident. Thomas Culp was a wonderful husband, father and friend. I still miss him everyday. Thomas' death was, I believe, the most tragic event I have experienced in my life yet. His wife, Bonnie, has over the past several years become one of my dearest friends. She is an inspiration to me in many aspects of my life. Bonnie- I love you and pray for you and the babies everyday. My heart aches for you and I know that we have a FUN journey ahead of us! Thomas would liked to have known we were going to share this pregnancy!! For those that don't know, Bonnie and I are about 2 weeks apart in our pregnancies. Another major trial of this year has been with my father. He has been battling a disease called myelofibrosis. This past week, he took a turn for the worse and most of his family and my siblings and I traveled to Houston to be with him. I will be honest- those 6 days were terrible. He was in a very critical state and I longed to just take him out of that hospital and head to the lake! (We love the lake!) I can now proudly say that he is doing MUCH BETTER! He has been moved out of the ICU, his kidneys are starting to shape back up, and he is able to talk and take a few steps. I really think that God took my father into his hands and pulled him out of that ICU room. I don't know what lies in the future for my father. I just pray that he will be healthy enough to meet this grand baby! It will be his first! He is a very strong man and I know will continue to fight this disease.

And once again, as most of you know, I have been put on bed rest this week! Soon after coming home from my Houston trip, I began experiencing some complications with my pregnancy. We spent Friday night in the ER and several other days in with my OBGYN. Everything continues to progress smoothly and the baby is fine! I have tried my best to be a good patient and rest but it has been a challenge. I keep telling people that being forced into your bed is pretty exhausting. I am trying to not become to worried with the stress of missing work and not making money. I know that bed rest is best for my health and my baby. Hopefully, I can resume my work schedule on Monday.

Well, that is my life update!! It has been a very challenging 2009 but I know it can only get better! Thank you for all the prayers on behalf of Thomas, my father, my health, and our baby. I hope to have better news to post in the near future!!

Ice storms are never a good thing. I must say this is the first of this kind for me. It has been very nerve racking with the power going on and off to hearing trees snapping all day around our house. We actually have a tree that has decided to rest a little on our roof. We haven't detected any structural damage as of yet. I am just praying that we can have power and heat through the night tonight. I hope everyone is staying indoors and warm!

We had a great Halloween! We went to a party at the Culp household! Bonnie went above and beyond with everything spooky and spectacular! She is so creative! On all of our cups she had written the ways we were going to die on our fake gravestones!!!! They were so hilarious!!! Adam and I went as the Joker and Batman from this years the Dark Knight movie! The kids were a little shy of Adam and I. In fact, every time I put my mask on Canaan went running for his mother! Adam won best costume but gave his award ribbon to Caroline!!! Thomas had a bonfire complete with S'mores and all! There were alot of characters there for sure!

Two weekends ago, Adam and I joined my in laws, Chad, Karen, Jackson & Landon for a little Silver Dollar City fun! Landon of course didn't do much but eat and sleep which is what he normally does. Jackson however LOVED it! He rode several rides and liked most of them. He didn't quite understand that having to wait in line part but at the age of three and in that heat...who could blame him??? The boys had stayed the week at Papaw and Grammy's house before heading to Branson. It was a fun day and I look forward to many more spent with those adorable boys in theme parks! When we bought our house, there was zero landscaping! So over the past few weekends Adam and I (and I use the term and I loosely!) lanscaped the front of our house. We are both very pleased with how it looks and really enjoyed the process of picking out the plants and learning about how to plant them! Poor Adam had to dig up all the sod and till it all by himself with just a little help from my weenie muscles! All in all it was a successful attempt and we are very happy with the results!!!

We were able to spend this past weekend with our Harmon family and we had a blast! Jackson turned 3 on April 5th and Landon is now 4 months old! We were so excited to play with those sweet boys! Funny story....Mom and I were preparing a roast lunch for Sunday after church in honor of Easter and my birthday celebrations. We had to begin the preparations Saturday night to get the roast in the cooker on time. Well, after Mom had peeled all of the potatoes, onions, and carrots- she put ALL OF THE PEELS down the disposal! I never put peelings down the disposal (for whatever reasons I dont really know) As you can imagine, we had major stoppage! Here are pictures from our pureed mess!!!!!!!!! Plumber Adam had to be called in and the headlamp that my father got him as a christmas present was very handy!!!! The picture of the sink shows all the little pieces of peel that went everywhere....floor, walls, cabinets, etc.... That lovely last pic is when I, having the smallest hands, had to clean the gunk out of the disposal!!!! Not fun.....

This past weekend my mom, Adam and I traveled to Oklahoma City to see my cousin perform in the play called The Miser. He attends college at Oklahoma City University where he studies theater and is a major asset to their theater program. He is a sophomore there and has a big career ahead of him! As most of you know we also love going to OKC to visit our most favorite friends, Jordan and Christina so that was an added bonus! I must add that Adam and Jordan skipped the play to watch Will Ferrell's new movie Semi Pro while Christina joined the girls for some theater time! The show was really great and it was so good to see Quinn in action!

The snow was so pretty today!! Luckily, Adam and I were able to spend the day relaxing at home! We stayed in warm by the fire and enjoyed some much needed downtime! WOW! This past weekend we were able to take a day off of work and head to Memphis to spend some quality time with our dear nephew Jackson and our newest one week old nephew Landon. It was such a joy to be with them both! (oh yea...and those two adult people that live there too!!! ;) We had a great time playing with big brother Jackson and staring at Landon while he slept since that is all he does. I didnt care though he is still precious and perfect! Adam played trains until the days end with Jackson and I had plenty of time with Landon. I got my hands on him every chance I got!!! So I got behind on my blogging during all of the holiday rush so I am just now posting my Christmas pictures. We had a busy holiday with alot of traveling but it was all worth it! We were able to spend time in Jonesboro with my Dad and the Medlock family then we headed to Memphis to have Christmas with the Harmon side. He is finally here!! It seems like so long ago when Adam and I were boarding our flight home from our honeymoon when I got a call from my sister in law Karen telling me she was pregnant!! I was so excited but on a plane so I couldn't scream like I really wanted to! Well, here we are nine months later and he is finally here! Of course they live in Memphis, TN so we have only seen a picture sent over cell phone but we are going there the first weekend in January to see him so pictures will have to do until then! They say he looks just like big brother Jackson and I love him so much already!

Christmas Decorating

Adam and I really enjoyed decorating for christmas this year in our new house! We dont have that many decorations but we are happy with what we have! Last year, my mom got all three of us matching stockings! We cant wait to see what santa brings to put in them! We are having my family at our house on Christmas Day so that will be fun!!!!

Fez is Home!

Fez is finally home! Tonight after work I was able to rush to the vet before closing time to pick up Fez and receieve his discharge instructions and bring him home! He is so glad to be home and has been giving us lots of kisses letting us know! He has some medicines and special food for the next few weeks but after that should be able to go back to his regular routine. He can resume normal activity whenever he feels like it but so far all he has wanted to do is stay right by his "daddys" side and rest. I think the nausea medicine he is still on makes him sleepy. These are some pictures from our night of rest and relaxation for the little guy!!

you can see his IV in his arm! Well, if you thought you had heard it all...you were wrong! Our sweet dog Fez has been REALLY sick this weekend. As I blog he is still an INPATIENT at the vet. The story begins on Saturday of this past weekend. He began acting very odd around one or two in the afternoon. He was hiding behind things, moaning alot, and just not being his usual cheerful self. I watched him closely all afternoon and into the night. Adam and I weren't sure what to make of the situation- we figured he was just sick to his stomach or something. His belly was really swollen and we could just tell that he was in alot of pain. Finally as we were getting into bed around 11, I convinced Adam that we should maybe take him to the Emergency Animal Clinic. Keep in mind that I am imagining them just giving him some medicine and sending us home. Well much to my surprise, I ended up staying there from 12:30 until 2:00. Fez ended up there until Monday morning! He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis!! Can you believe that!?! I didn't even know that dogs could be inpatients!?!?! So the poor little guy has had a rough weekend! He is now at our regular vet being monitored. He is still on IV fluids and meds. The vet called tonight and told us that he should be able to come home tommorrow evening so we are hoping for a full recovery! This was all new to us and seemed a little silly but he is like our baby! I know you all with pets understand! ;)

OKC Trip!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, Adam and I planned a trip to visit Jordan and Christina in Oklahoma City! You may be wondering why the only pictures I have is of this yummy food!!?? Well we decided to splurge on a date night Saturday night and we all enjoyed a dinner at The Melting Pot at Bricktown! It was so divine and a really good time to catch up! We had a great time watching movies, watching the boys play video games, watching Jordan pick up pecans from his yard (hehehe!), and just being back together! They have moved into the CUTEST rent house and now that I am blogging I am wondering why I didn't take any pictures of it? I guess bc it wasn't dipped in chocolate!?!

Razorback Football

I have managed to make it to ONE Hog football game this season (isn't that pitiful?!?!) but it was a fun one! My mom was here visiting and some family friends had given her their tickets for the game. Little did she know the tickets were for the very first row, row A on the 50 yard line! We were right there behind the players. We could hear and see everything that happened on the sidelines! As for the field, it was a little hard to see without standing on tiptoe or catching it on the jumbotron. (Is that how you spell that?) Which by the way Adam and I made an apperance on! Anyways, here are some shots from the game of the sideline action! It was a beautiful day to be at the stadium!

WE HAVE MOVED!!!!

Finally I have found some time to post on our blog! Actually, I have found the cable to my camera and hooked up our computer so that I could blog!! We officially closed on our house on September 14, 2007. It was a very nerve-racking process for me but you know Adam...always calm, cool and collected! It took about an hour and Josh was right there by our side! (I think Adam and Josh planned to both wear bright green shirts. I guess they decided it would bring us good luck or something!!) We started the moving process Friday evening on the 14th and spent the entire weekend hauling loads back and forth. We had several friends spend their saturday with us.

Thomas, Bonnie, Caroline, Eddie, Rick (my father in law) and my lil bro Matt all pitched in to get us moved! Thank you guys so much!!!! We owe you big time!!

Now, if we could just get all these boxes unloaded.....

Fez & Harley- BFF!!!

For the past few days, we have been keeping Harley, Fez's dog Cousin! They love to play and fight with each other just like real cousins! It is so entertaining to watch their interactions. Eventually all the toys have to be put away because Fez doesn't share very well and they can get pretty fierce with tug-of-war! Anyways, here are some pictures from our few days together!
